What it is

Laurel Bath House's fine-fragrance discovery set, from the Los Angeles house that hand-fills everything in small batches. Four 2 ml glass vials of the core line in gift-box packaging: Araki 40 (cherry blossom with a bite of almond), Rocket Man, Cuffed, and Mourning Wood. Vegan and cruelty-free, made to the natural ISO 9235 and 16128 standards.

What it does

Lets you wear each of the four core scents properly before committing to a full bottle. The brand calls these their most captivating scents, and the set doubles as a ready-made gift for a fragrance lover.

Who it's for

Anyone choosing between the core scents, or gifting to someone who loves fragrance. Note: discovery sets are not eligible for return, so pick your favorite before going full-size.

How to use

How much: One vial lasts several wearings.

1. Wear one scent per day so you can judge it fairly.
2. Spray on pulse points and give it the full day.
3. Pick your winner, then layer with the matching body wash or cream.

Where it fits: Use it as a pre-purchase test run, or keep the vials for travel.

Why we stock it

We stock this because blind-buying fragrance is a gamble. Four vials, gift-boxed, and you learn exactly which one is yours.

About the brand

Laurel Bath House

Functional fragrance, made to be lived in.

Laurel Bath House is an independent fragrance house. Their thing is functional fragrance — scent designed to be part of your day, not a special-occasion spray. The Layer Packs are their signature: two eau de parfums built to be worn on their own or layered into one blend.

Most niche fragrance asks you to commit to one expensive bottle and hope. Laurel's Layer Packs do the opposite — two full 50 mL bottles that teach you how to layer as you go. It's the most approachable way into real perfumery we've found, from a maker we'd hand you in person.

Fragrance questions, answered

How long will it last on skin?

These are eau de parfum, so expect several hours — most people get a full workday from 1 to 2 sprays. Scent lasts longer on moisturized skin and shorter in dry air. One honest note: you’ll stop noticing it before other people do. That’s normal — it doesn’t mean it’s gone.

Can I really layer them, or is that marketing?

Really. The two scents were composed as a pair — Mourning Wood brings the dark woods and rose, Cuffed brings the leather and tobacco, and together they read as one warm blend. Start with one spray of each; adjust the ratio once you know which side you lean toward.

Is this for men or women?

Neither, specifically. The notes — woods, leather, tobacco, a little raspberry — don’t lean traditionally masculine or feminine. Wear what you like the smell of.
