What it is

A pH-balanced botanical face toner from Brown and Coconut, a skincare brand built on simple, plant-rich formulas.

What it does

A non-sticky, misting toner at pH 5 that hydrates while removing dirt, makeup, and excess oil left behind after cleansing. Aloe leaf juice and botanical extracts hydrate, soothe, and rejuvenate; skin-soothing witch hazel calms, tones, and clarifies; neem and rosemary extracts deep cleanse the pores; wasabi and hibiscus extracts promote a supple, fresh glow. Alcohol-free and non-drying. Featured in Women's Health skin awards 2020.

Who it's for

Anyone who wants a toner that hydrates instead of stripping. Alcohol-free, so it is kind to dry and sensitive skin.

How to use

How much: Mist over clean skin.

1. Mist over clean skin after cleansing.
2. Follow with serums or moisturizer while skin is still damp.

Where it fits: After cleansing, before serums and moisturizer.

Why we stock it

We stock this because most toners are alcohol and sting. This one is pH 5, alcohol-free, and it actually hydrates while it tones.

About the brand

Brown and Coconut

Minimal ingredients, maximal glow

Brown and Coconut is a sister-owned company: Zeena and Letisha started it as a lifestyle blog in Boston in 2013 while trying to heal their own acneic skin, which conventional treatments weren't fixing. Unable to find what they were looking for in stores, they developed their own plant-based formulas with cosmetic chemist expertise, using minimal ingredients in powerful combinations. Everything ships plastic-free in glass, and each order removes ocean-bound plastic.

We stock Brown and Coconut because their botanical masks and balms are the kind of simple, effective formulas we'd mix ourselves if we knew how.

Skincare questions, answered

Where does this go in my routine?

Thinnest to thickest: cleanser, toner, serum, moisturizer, then SPF in the morning. This product's How to use section above tells you its exact step.

When will I see results?

Give it 4 to 6 weeks of consistent use — that's one full skin cycle. Hydration shows up in days; tone and texture take weeks. If your skin reacts badly (stinging, new breakouts that don't settle within a week), stop using it.

I have sensitive skin. Will this irritate me?

Patch test first: a dab behind your ear or along your jawline, wait 24 hours. Fragrance-free formulas are the safest bet for reactive skin — check the highlights on this page.
