• Juniper, orange flower, amber
  • Martinis on the terrace
  • Gin-crisp, then resinous
  • Layers with Cuffed

What it is

An eau de parfum from Laurel Bath House, a Los Angeles house that hand-fills small-batch fragrance and bath products, built as a tribute to the legendary parties of Hollywood, 1974. Rocket Man layers juniper and pink peppercorn over Egyptian orange flower and amber. Vegan, cruelty-free, 50 ml.

What it does

Opens gin-crisp: juniper and dry citrus with a polish that softens into orange flower and a resinous, candlelit amber by midnight. Substantial enough for a legendary night, never loud enough to crash it.

Who it's for

Night-out fragrance lovers, and anyone who wants aromatic freshness with a warm finish. Layer it with Cuffed for the brand's recommended pairing: the smoulder, then the spark.

How to use

How much: One to two sprays. It wears close, so you do not need much.

1. Spray on pulse points: wrists, neck, behind the ears.
2. Let it settle for a minute before adding clothing layers.
3. For the recommended pairing, wear Cuffed first and finish with Rocket Man: the smoulder, then the spark.

Where it fits: Whenever you want the scent: mornings for a full-day wear, or right before heading out.

Why we stock it

We stock this because it nails the cold-martini-to-warm-room arc. If your evenings start on a terrace, this belongs on your wrist.

About the brand

Laurel Bath House

Functional fragrance, made to be lived in.

Laurel Bath House is an independent fragrance house. Their thing is functional fragrance — scent designed to be part of your day, not a special-occasion spray. The Layer Packs are their signature: two eau de parfums built to be worn on their own or layered into one blend.

Most niche fragrance asks you to commit to one expensive bottle and hope. Laurel's Layer Packs do the opposite — two full 50 mL bottles that teach you how to layer as you go. It's the most approachable way into real perfumery we've found, from a maker we'd hand you in person.

Fragrance questions, answered

How long will it last on skin?

These are eau de parfum, so expect several hours — most people get a full workday from 1 to 2 sprays. Scent lasts longer on moisturized skin and shorter in dry air. One honest note: you’ll stop noticing it before other people do. That’s normal — it doesn’t mean it’s gone.

Can I really layer them, or is that marketing?

Really. The two scents were composed as a pair — Mourning Wood brings the dark woods and rose, Cuffed brings the leather and tobacco, and together they read as one warm blend. Start with one spray of each; adjust the ratio once you know which side you lean toward.

Is this for men or women?

Neither, specifically. The notes — woods, leather, tobacco, a little raspberry — don’t lean traditionally masculine or feminine. Wear what you like the smell of.
